Coordinate Measurement
Gilwood has invested in a 6 axis Faro inspection Arm. The FaroArm improves quality and reverse engineering processes by rapidly verifying or scanning parts with confidence and accuracy. The FaroArm allows Gilwood to make and substantiate improvements in product quality. It makes it easy to perform accurate measurements of complex parts and reduces the time spent gathering those measurements.
Acting as an alternative to fixed co-ordinate measurement, the FaroArm is versatile and highly accurate. Using a series of light sensors within each axis the FaroArm makes use of advanced trigonometry to calculate the position of the arm to within 0.0006” (0.016mm). Often more accurate and consistent than conventional measurement methods (calipers, micrometers, etc.) or traditional CMMs.
With the ability to leap frog, the arm is ideally suited to large assemblies and fabrications. The FaroArm adds a new dimension of inspection to Gilwood.
